Seeking opportunity, Dr. Pearson’s family came to the United States from the Soviet Union when he was a child in 1978. Having had negative experiences at the dentist when he was young, he decided that he wanted to become a pediatric dentist so he could provide the type of care that he wished he had.
Dr. Pearson earned his dental doctorate from the Creighton University School of Dentistry. He later went on to obtain his Pediatric Dental Specialty Certificate by undergoing advanced training at the University of Rochester Medical Center and Eastman Dental College. Today, he is very active in many professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, and more!
When he isn’t busy at the dental office, Dr. Pearson enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and barbecuing!

Firstly, you need to consider what you think is important when it comes to dental care. This can be a mixture of several factors, including hours, location, credentials, cleanliness, payment and fees/insurance, and safety. You should also know what kind of treatment your child needs, such as if they need fillings, pulp therapy, extractions, emergency dental care, or even special needs dentistry. Some practices may be better suited than others. Lastly, be sure to get a feel for your child’s dental team to see how they treat their patients. At Wylie Children’s Dentistry, we prioritize keeping little ones comfortable and safe while providing them with essential tooth care. You can even read our bios on the website to learn more about our backgrounds and education.
If your child is experiencing a dental emergency, always contact our office right away so that we can schedule them for the earliest appointment. Keep in mind, though, that you should take them to the local ER instead if they’re struggling with more severe complications, including a broken/dislocated jaw, trouble breathing/swallowing, or uncontrollable bleeding. The hospital might not have a dentist, but they can stabilize them and provide antibiotics until your child can get dental care. Our practice offers same-day and weekend emergency appointments so that your little one can undergo the proper treatment to save their smile. To avoid dental emergencies in the future, have them practice good oral hygiene every day and bring them in for their routine checkups and cleanings for the best results.
While this can vary due to factors like geography and a patient’s current dental health, the average cost of a dental checkup and cleaning in the United States can be between $200 and $350. If your child is under your insurance plan, then you might expect our practice to have negotiated fees with your coverage provider. During these appointments, you can expect us to review your little one's dental history, discuss any concerns, take X-rays, perform an oral cancer screening, and offer professional cleaning.
Remember that preventive dentistry is always the best way to save money on dental care, as you can help your child avoid future complications. However, if you want to ensure that you can manage affordable treatment for your little one, then you might consider dental insurance. Our team also offers the KLEER® Dental Membership Plan that can provide significant discounts on various services with one low monthly or yearly fee. You can also sign up for CareCredit to help turn your payments into low-to-no-interest installments, allowing you to save money while focusing on setting your child up for oral health success.
